NHS Cervical Screening Results – Going Digital from September 2025
From September 2025, the NHS Cervical Screening Programme will begin sending results digitally through the NHS App.
1. If your result is negative (normal) – you will receive a message in the NHS App along with a notification.
2. If unread within 72 hours, a letter will be sent to you by post.
3. If your result is abnormal, you will continue to receive your results by post.
What you can do now:
· Download the NHS App if you haven’t already
· Make sure notifications are enabled so you don’t miss important health information
Our sample takers will now be letting all patients know about this change during their appointment.
